Testimony Regarding Earthwalker LLC - A Word of Caution

My experience with Earthwalker LLC was, unfortunately, deeply disappointing and, at times, outright harmful. I'm writing this with the hope that others will be more informed before entrusting their well-being or the well-being of their loved ones to this organization.

Initially, the promises of a transformative wilderness experience, guided by experienced professionals, seemed appealing. My struggling teenager needed help, and the brochures painted a picture of healing and growth amidst nature's beauty. The reality was far different.

Serious Concerns:

• Lack of Supervision and Negligence: The staff-to-participant ratio was frequently inadequate, leading to situations where participants were left unsupervised for extended periods. My child reported instances of bullying and even physical altercations that went unnoticed and unaddressed by the staff. One night, my child wandered off and wasn't noticed missing for several hours.

• Questionable Therapeutic Practices: The "therapy" seemed to consist primarily of forced marches and menial tasks. While physical activity is part of the process, there was little to no genuine therapeutic intervention. The advertised licensed therapists were rarely seen, and the "group sessions" felt more like poorly moderated venting sessions.

• Inadequate Safety Measures: Despite the rhetoric of "safety first," basic safety protocols were often ignored. The provided equipment was often ill-fitting and poorly maintained. First aid was administered haphazardly, and there were concerns about the staff's competence in handling emergencies. My child sustained a minor injury that became infected due to a lack of proper care.

• Lack of Communication and Transparency: Communication with the staff was difficult and often evasive. Concerns were dismissed or downplayed. Getting updates on my child's progress was like pulling teeth. I felt like I was being kept in the dark about what was really happening.

• Emotional Distress: Instead of fostering resilience, the program seemed designed to break participants down. The constant pressure, lack of support, and isolation from the outside world exacerbated my child's existing emotional issues. My child came back more withdrawn and traumatized than before.

Conclusion:

Earthwalker LLC presented itself as a haven for healing, but in my experience, it was anything but. The lack of proper supervision, questionable therapeutic practices, and inadequate safety measures created a harmful and distressing environment. I strongly advise anyone considering this organization to proceed with extreme caution and to thoroughly investigate their practices before entrusting them with the care of themselves or their loved ones. My family suffered significant emotional and financial harm as a result of our involvement with Earthwalker LLC, and I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.
